The Appalachian Legacy Project LLC and OFX Solutions LLC will Expand Well Done Foundation’s Ecosystem into the Northeast and South, Areas with a Rich History of Oil Production and Thousands of Orphaned Wells
Shelby, MT – April 22, 2021 – Conservation NGO the Well Done Foundation (WDF) today announced two new strategic partnerships encompassing Louisiana, East Texas, Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio and West Virginia, which will help WDF expand its continued efforts to plug orphaned oil and gas wells for the purpose of fighting climate change.
The Appalachian Legacy Project LLC, of Bradford, PA; and OFX Solutions LLC, of Shreveport, LA, will manage WDF’s Northeastern and South Central project teams, respectively.
“We are excited to be scaling-up our important work well beyond the state of Montana, which enables us to bring meaningful and measurable climate and economic benefit to other areas of the US,” Well Done Foundation Chairman Curtis Shuck said. “Appalachian Legacy and OFX Solutions will help us build strong partnerships in communities throughout the Northeast and the South.”
As the Well Done Foundation continues to scale up operations, the organization’s focus is on identifying and delivering opportunities that both help to create local jobs and tangibly contribute to a cleaner environment for now and the future, one well at a time. The WDF continues to lead the way in this space by sponsoring a state-of-the industry carbon offset methodology with the American Carbon Registry and is working with Calgary-based Radicle to develop projects with real impact.
“Our family has been in the oil and gas Industry for four generations in the Appalachian Region, so striking a balance between the environment, the industry and our community is super important,” according to Paul Morris, one of three Morris brothers who are the principals of the Appalachian Legacy Project LLC. “We believe in the mission of the Well Done Foundation and feel strongly that we will be better together in a collaboration to take on the orphan oil and gas well issue in this area that we love and grew up in.”
In Louisiana, Dawn Boyter is the Managing Member of OFX Solutions, who has been looking for a way to give back to the industry. “Working with the Well Done Foundation to take on orphan oil and gas wells is a great way to get results quickly using a proven partnering approach,” Boyter said. “This is a no-frills, take-action type of strategy that has such a positive potential for our region of Louisiana and East Texas.”
About the Well Done Foundation
Formed in 2019, the Well Done Foundation enables the oil and gas industry to partner with the conservation community to create an alternative pathway to success that benefits all. The Well Done Process creates a strategic partnership among regulators, surface owners and adoptive parties, leading to a safe and seamless system that provides cost-effective and lasting results that improve the environment while working with the industry in a transparent structure that delivers value to its triple bottom line: community partnerships (people), environmental responsibility (planet), and economic benefits (vitality). Montana’s Golden Triangle Region is home to some of the richest soil and most productive growing acres in the United States. The Well Done Foundation works with its partners to transition the orphaned well sites into their next levels of service. For more information, visit https://welldonefoundation.com/.
