My name is Praneel Rajkumar. I am 21 years old, and I am from Allentown, Pennsylvania. I am currently a rising senior at Penn State University, where I am pursuing a B.S. in Environmental Systems Engineering. My interest in this field stems from my strong desire to help solve crucial global and environmental issues through the use of math, science, and engineering. I also strongly believe that, with the investment of time and research, we can shift to cleaner energy sources to fuel our lives and lead a more sustainable existence.
I have had the privilege of serving as an intern at both Penn State University and King Abdullah University of Science and Technology in the summer of 2021, where I performed an analysis into various engineering risks in the energy sector and research into alternative fuels for cleaner combustion, respectively. Both of these experiences, in addition to my university studies, served to only further my knowledge and passion in this field. I am also an active member of the Society of Environmental Systems Engineers, a club for individuals within my major which exposes us to both individuals and opportunities which serve to further our knowledge about global challenges and potential solutions.
